Rise above your own negativity
The Dark Hour of the Soul.
I have been on this spiritual journey independent of institutional religion for a while. Similar to how it is with spirituality, there are times when you move from a place of enlightenment to a place of hopelessness. These valleys are sometimes referred to as "The dark hour of the Soul" by mystics. You go through periods of sadness, despair, and hopelessness. I frequently look to the Bible as a source of motivation and hope when I become aware of these periods in my life.Hope is found in reading scripture.
I took my Bible and opened to Ps 27 one morning about a week ago during such a period, and it seemed as though God spoke to me in the most amazing way.
I want to share some extremely wonderful insights I gained from the passage of scripture with you today as I am a student metaphysics, and therefore I like to interpret scripture a little differently.
I will focus on the first 3 verses in this portion of scripture.
Ps 27: 1-3 The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? 2 When the wicked, even mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell. 3 Though a host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.
Although Christian theologians occasionally disagree and struggle to define the phrase "enemies," the wicked, and foes, which is being used in this passage of scripture, as a student of metaphysics I immediately understood those words in a deeper way.
I want to explore these flesh-eating enemies that we face more deeply.
The worst enemies that we face in our lives is our own negative thoughts.
Author: Bree Maloney on the website Medical Marque made the following statement.
“You think that a disease or illness are the reasons for your tired body or prolonged aches, but have you ever thought that thinking negatively could be the reason? Pessimism affects more than just your emotional health. In fact, doctors have found that people with high levels of negativity are more likely to suffer from degenerative brain diseases, cardiovascular problems, digestive issues, and recover from sickness much slower than those with a positive mindset.
And then she goes on to say the following:
How Does Negativity Affect the Body?
“Negative thoughts and emotions are a natural response to disaster and heartache. But extended bouts of negativity can result in serious health problems. Negativity sends our body into stress, or ‘fight-or-flight’ mode. Our bodies are designed to deal with stressful situations by releasing cortisol into the bloodstream, making you more alert and focused. Though some stress is good for us, too much can be detrimental to your health. Extended periods of negativity slow digestion and decreases the immune system’s ability to fight inflammation. This is also why negative people are more likely to get sicker than optimists.”

"Negative people are more likely to get sicker than optimists.”
There are so much more that can be said about the effects of prolonged negativity in your life, but for this post I think it will be sufficient to say that our own worst enemies are our own negative thoughts and mindsets.
How does this portion of scripture help?
It aids by shifting your negative thought patterns from emphasizing your issues to emphasizing that which is greater than your negative ideas. You do that by shifting your focus from your negativity to the Lord.
The Lord metaphysically means: (Source Truth Unity)
Lord--The activity of the spiritual I AM as the ruling consciousness. The Lord God of the Scriptures is Christ, the Spiritual Man; our divine consciousness; the creative power within us.
You need to make the Christ in you, the I Am (who you are in Christ), the prevailing consciousness by shifting your awareness from your negative thoughts to the spiritual consciousness.
This portion of scripture closes with the last two verses.
13 I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. 14 Wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the Lord.
As the center of both physical and spiritual existence, the heart stands for the "central wisdom of feeling as opposed to the head-wisdom of reason". It is understanding and life-giving, complex, and kind. It is a love symbol. The heart is a symbol of attachment and is frequently referred to as the seat of emotions. Most often it is referred to as the "control center" of our being.
Therefore, The Lord (Our own Christ or Higher Consciousness) your I Am, - Christ in you the hope of glory will be your “Light and Salvation” if you wait on Him.
Waiting on the Lord implies, praying meditating, going within to the Source of Light and Salvation and allowing the solution of your problems to come from within in order to develop “inner strength” to rise from your negativity, to strengthen your (heart, the inner control center of your being)
In order to rise above your negativity, it is imperative to wait upon the Lord.
Greetings with Love Peace and Harmony.
