The Significance of Pentecost

 Some thoughts on Pentecost.

Being so much aware of energy, I also like to think that certain times of the years that important spiritual, or religious events took place, should be a time of reflection on the energies of the event.

In this time the church is celebrating Pentecost.

I took this from the site of Truth Unity:

Metaphysical meaning of Pentecost (mbd)

Pentecost, pen'-te-cost (Gk.)--the fiftieth (day). The day of Pentecost is the Greek rendering of the Hebrew "Hag-ha-Katzir" or festival of reaping, harvest of grain.

The "day of Pentecost" was with the Israelites the great feast of the harvest, or "day of the first fruits" (Exod. 23:16; Num. 28:26). It was celebrated on the fiftieth day after the Passover. The first Pentecost after Jesus Christ's ascension was the time of the first recorded coming of the Holy Spirit baptism upon His disciples and immediate followers (Acts 2:1-4).

Meta. The metaphysical meaning of the "day of Pentecost" is that in the unfoldment of the spiritual mind there are periods when the ideas that we have meditated on, and accepted as true, spring forth into consciousness, becoming living realities in our life instead of mere mental concepts. In this awakening we get the fruits of the ideas that we have planted in our mind; we have escaped from darkness (Egypt) and have entered into light (Promised Land).

Darkness and light are two polar opposites, and we all experience times of darkness in our lives. These are times when something significantly bad happened in your life, you lost a loved one, a job, money, a house or any event that plunged your life in a state of darkness

Darkness can encompass a primitive chaos, and the powers of that chaos; it is not essentially evil, yet it is largely associated with death and destruction, captivity and spiritual darkness. The gloom which preceded the Fiat Lux traditionally represents the states that give rise to chaos.

You escaped darkness, that means your consciousness has been awakened, you no longer see life through the lens (perception) of death, captivity and destruction.

Remember there is no devil (outside force) that plunges our life into darkness – the Devil is simply a state of consciousness removed of light life and all that is God (good)

To enter into the light, to awaken, to be enlightened simply means to become aware of your own potential as a divine being. You are the God, provision, healing, deliverance, potential that you so desperately seek on the outside. Jesus said, “the kingdom of God is within you”. Kingdom of God simply means “The Christ Consciousness” is within you.

The events that plunged your life into a state of darkness unfolded over time, maybe a lifetime of being unconscious of your true potential in life. Moving from a state of unconsciousness to a state of consciousness requires a process and time. There is an event or an awakening, that you fully realize and become aware of your true potential as a human being, and then unfolds a process of enlightenment where you start to become aware of the devils (the inner enemies that plunged your life into darkness (Carl Jung called it your shadows) and you start to deal with it.

The day of Pentecost in this context means, the day of first-fruits of your spiritual awakening and enlightenment, when the first results of your spiritual and shadow work become apparent. You have risen in the Christ consciousness (Risen from the grave) you are no longer living the disempowered life of the grave. You have ascended into heaven (Ascended into Christ consciousness) and now 50 days later (50 means a time of change) you start to experience the first fruits of your new Spiritual Journey.

The Holy Spirit means Ruach Breath, you speak my breathing or letting your breath go over your vocal cords, so in a sense it means “Divine Speech” so on this 50th day of your awakening (the day of change) you received Divine speech.

You no longer say I cannot do it – can.

You no longer say “it is impossible – you say everything is possible.

You no longer say, I am poor, I am wretched, I am weak – You say I Am!!!!

Start living your new life, start living the Christ Consciousness, Start living Pentecost.
